Pelk: Picture a green martian ala the Barsoom novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Now shrink that being down to a meter in height but keep the protruding eyes set wide apart on a dusky green, hairless head lacking nose or nostrils or lips (but with a lipless mouth) and a pair of upward projecting tusks that gleam. Attach that head to the top of a six-limbed, bipedal body, and you have a Pelk.
