Texas

An experiment gone horribly wrong altered the rate of time in most of what was once Texas. The borders have been redrawn slightly, and Texas was reclassified as a protectorate of the U.S. and no longer one of the fifty states.

Referred to colloquially as the "standalone star state" and the "lost state of Texas."
