Cliveden

No Cliveden have ever ventured into Human Space. They are one of only a few races with a lock on the portal technology that controls who can and cannot travel instantly between solar systems, making the arbiters of access in their region of space. They permit only their own vessels—family-owned spacecraft—to use their portals, giving them an uncontested monopoly on all shipping and travel across more than two hundred worlds.

Physically, Cliveden are a reptilian species with scaly epidermis that runs from shades of pale blue to lavender. They have coronal crests instead of hair, black eyes, and bifurcated tongues. They are a pragmatic, no-nonsense race, highly efficient and supremely punctual.
